Taquane Williams, 20, and Patrick Collins, 18, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony burglary charge.
According to the charges, Alsip police responded to a home in the 116000 block of South Kedvale around 3:19 a.m. June 21. While en route to the scene, dispatch told police that a male was spotted in an upstairs window.
When officers arrived, prosecutors said they encountered the juvenile near the staircase inside the home. The juvenile was taken into police custody.
The prosecutor said officers announced four times they were going to search the house with a police K9.
The second man, identified as Collins, exited the home and surrendered to police.

Alsip police entered the residence with the police K9. While searching the home’s basement, the dog alerted to someone possibly hiding beneath a pile of clothes.

The assistant public defender told the judge that the police K9 bit Williams on the wrist when he was hiding under the clothes.
“They warned him, ‘we got the dog,’” Judge Felice said.
Bail was set at $50,000, The judge also ordered Williams to wear a GPS tracker and random drug testing if he bonds out.
Collins was released on a $25,000 I-bond, along with electronic home monitoring and random drug testing.
“I think he was with the wrong person at the wrong time,” the judge added.
Both men are to appear in court July 11 in Bridgeview.
