Putting Action Back Into Politics
After twelve years on the sidelines, I decided it was time to act and dive into politics to help fix our broken system.

From starting my own small business to becoming an anti-bullying advocate and non-profit founder, and even in my role as a mom, I’ve made a life focused on collaborating with others to find real results. So, when friends and acquaintances started pushing me to run for Congress -- well before anyone put the word President in front of Donald Trump’s name -- I was compelled. After living in a district that has had their voice ignored for the last 12 years, I decided to get off the sidelines and do something about it.
It’s as simple as this: career politicians don’t get it. To everyday people like us, this is as obvious as the sky is blue, but to politicians, it’s another talking point used to score points. Politicians need to be public servants first: focused on finding solutions that help the residents in their community, not bickering and playing games.
It was this growing frustration then triggered by the election that pushed me to run for Congress. Running for Congress in the district where I grew up, went to high school, and live now with my family was a no-brainer. I know the third district well, and I’m eager to keep learning more.
Through hundreds of conversations stretching from Back of the Yards to Oak Lawn to Romeoville, I chose to do something that hasn’t been done in over a decade: I listened. I listened to working families feeling left behind by the “new economy”. I listened to parents concerned about losing health care for their children who suffer from pre-existing conditions. I listened to small business owners who feel like they’re constantly being pushed aside for the big corporations. I listened to young people yearning for an education that prepared them for the real world and leads to good jobs.
As I’ve learned throughout my personal and professional life: results matter. I’m going to Congress to fight for action. I will take the stories, knowledge, and lessons from the residents of the 3rd and push for solutions in Washington. Elect me to Congress and I won’t come home empty handed.
