Reavis High School Placed on 'Soft Lockdown'
An anonymous email threat is likely to be a hoax, but school officials weren't taking any chances on Wednesday.

BURBANK, IL - Reavis High School in Burbank was placed on a “soft lockdown” Wednesday afternoon.
“We are safe,” school Superintendent Dan Riordan told the Burbank Beat.

The lockdown went into effect shortly after an anonymous threat was made in an email around noon. According to the Burbank Beat, the administration believes the threat to be a hoax, but has placed the school on lockdown out of caution.
“There is no immediate threat,” Riordan said.

Still, police officers had the area closed to traffic. Any parents picking up their children were required to stay on the south side of 77th Street.
