November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month, offering an important reminder to focus on those who have been touched by this disease.
As a volunteer advocate with the Alzheimer’s Association, I understand the power of sharing my story to influence change. Watching my grandfather suffer tiredly with this disease for over 8 years was heartbreaking and I advocate so no other family has to suffer needlessly also.
My Representative, Congresswomen Marie Newman, has been a steadfast supporter of Alzheimer’s Association and driven legislation to improve the lives of those with dementia and their caregivers. She was even named our IL Chapter 2021 Legislator of the Year for all her tireless work with the association!

Throughout November and as this year comes to an end, I want to acknowledge Representative Marie Newman for being a staunch champion of our cause and helping to change the trajectory of this devastating disease. Together with the Alzheimer's Association, we can all make a difference and finally meet the first survivor of this disease.
