Repeat Burglar Charged In Gaming Cafe Break-Ins: Oak Lawn Police

Worth, Summit and Posen police have also charged him in connection with multiple similar burglaries, according to police.

OAK LAWN, IL — A 22-year-old is charged with burglarizing two gaming cafes in Oak Lawn earlier this year, according to police.

Sincere Lanier of Calumet Park faces multiple felony charges of burglary, criminal property damage and theft, Oak Lawn police announced Wednesday, adding the charges were brought in mid-September and early October. Worth, Summit and Posen police have also charged Lanier in connection with similar burglaries, according to authorities.

The Oak Lawn charges are tied to burglaries that occurred March 24 at Stella’s Place in the 8700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue and March 29 at Avenue Flower Shop & Wine Bar in the 10600 block of South Cicero Avenue, according to police, who said in both cases the thieves targeted gaming terminals, stealing cash and damaging machines.

In the first incident, officers responded around 4:45 a.m. to reports of several males with sledgehammers who had forced entry to the business and fled east, police said, adding that officers found and followed the suspect vehicle, but that reckless driving allowed the vehicle to evade authorities.

Officers responded to the second incident around the same time as the first, at 4:30 a.m., according to police.
