BRIDGEVIEW, IL -- A Chicago man with a pending felony for cheating on a drug test was caught a second time using synthetic urine during a probation visit, prosecutors said. Eldra Beamon, 50, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on a felony charge of defrauding a drug test.

Beamon arrived at the Bridgeview Courthouse on April 4 for his probationary drug test. The probation officer was monitoring Beamon’s urine drop when noticed that Beamon’s hands were shaking and wet, the prosecutor said. The sample did not meet the required heat temperature. Later the prosecutor said that a vial attached a shoe string was found in Beamon’s pants. Beamon allegedly admitted to cheating on the drug test because he “didn’t want a dirty drop.”

The prosecutor said this is the second time that Beamon has tried to foil a drug test. On July 20, 2018, Beamon was caught substituting urine with tea, court records said.
