Diners Give 'High Five' to Pie Five Pizza
New make-it-yourself, fast casual pizza restaurant opens at Oak Lawn's Stony Creek Promenade.

Area residents were out early to give a high five to Pie Five Pizza, which opened Friday at 109th Street and Cicero Avenue at Stony Creek Promenade.
Pie Five is a Dallas, TX-based franchise that plays on the make-it-yourself pizza concept. The Oak Lawn location at 10916 S. Cicero Ave., next to Mariano’s, offers made-from-scratch dough and a wide selection of farm-fresh ingredients and toppings. Gluten-free selections are also available.

The fast-casual pizza joint boasts a state-of-the-art, custom designed pizza oven that cooks pizzas in just 145 seconds, allowing customers to get unlimited toppings, a variety of crusts, and a customized pizza in less than five minutes.
Guests can add one of Pie Five’s freshly tossed handmade salads or a decadent home-baked brownie or cookie pie to their meal.

Pie Five opened Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and presentation of a $1,000 check to Park Lawn Services, which promotes independence for intellectually-challenged adults.
Also, Pie Five is hosting a pizza wars between three Oak Lawn schools -- St. Linus, St. Catherine and St. Gerald -- during the entire month of February. Each school will receive $1 for each pizza they purchase, and the school with the most pizzas at the end of the month will receive an additional $1,000 grand prize. Oak Lawn is the first franchise location in the south suburbs; a second Pie Five is slated to open soon in Orland Park.
Pie Five Pizza is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
