Richards concert band plays on flight deck of USS Intrepid

Aircraft carrier now a museum harbored in New York

After the jazz band performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last Wednesday, the concert band from Richards High School played one of the nation’s great outdoor venues on Friday.

Directed by Charles Martin, the concert band performed on the flight deck of the USS Intrepid.

Launched in 1943, the Intrepid served in World War II (surviving five kamikaze and one torpedo attack), the Cold War, and Vietnam War. Today, it’s a floating museum:
