
The varsity boys bowling from Richards High School won first place at the IHSA Regional hosted by Brooks at Skyway Lanes.
"It was a nail biter going into the sixth and final game. The Dogs had made up a 258 pin deficit at lunch and won by 86 pins over rival Oak Lawn HS," coach Kari Vanderjack said.
Strong performances from senior Matt LaBonte (2nd - 1278) and junior Blake Attig (4th - 1258) secured the victory. Sophomore Danny LaBonte (8th), junior Nick Schopper (20th), and senior Owen Szarley (21st) contributed to the team victory.

"Team members Josh Barr, John Englund and Dom Stahulak got loud the last three games to help the team's momentum," coach added.
Richards advances to compete next Saturday in the Lockport Sectional at Strike n' Spare II. The top 6 teams qualify for the IHSA State Tournament.
