Ridgeland Dist. 122 is seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the school board. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 15.

OAK LAWN, IL — Ridgeland Dist. 122 is seeking candidates for a board of education appointment to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Natalie Sheldon. The selected applicant will serve on the D122 school board until the next regular election in April 2022.
Potential candidates must be, on the date of appointment, a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois, and of Dist. 122 for at least one year immediately preceding the election, and a registered voter.
Reasons making a candidate ineligible to serve on the board include holding an incompatible public office and certain types of state or federal employment, and having a prohibited interest in any contract with the district. A child sex offender, as defined in state law, is also ineligible for appointment.

Those who meet these requirements may complete the application available on the Dist. 122 website and submit it along with a letter of interest to: Anissa Beckon at the Dist. 122 Administrative Center, 6500 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn, IL. 60453. Materials must be received no later than 3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021. Applications can also be picked up at the Administrative Center.
