Ross Dress for Less Slated To Open March in Chicago Ridge

A new Ross Dress for Less Store is set to open around March 10 in the Commons of Chicago Ridge. The store is also hiring.

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- A new Ross Dress for Less is set to open March 10 in the Commons of Chicago Ridge, according to the company’s website. Ross claims to be the nation’s largest, off-price retail chain. Ross carries high quality department and specialty store brands at 20-percent to 60-percent discounts. The new store will be located at 400 Commons Drive In Chicago Ridge, on the southernmost end of the shopping center.

The Chicago Ridge location is also hiring area supervisors (e.g., department managers), retail associates and store protection specialists.

  • Retail associates are responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. The associate may be required to work in various store functions including but not limited to cash office, front end, fitting room, stock room, fine jewelry, customer service, markdowns, recovery/sizing, cashiering, merchandising, etc., as well as perform other functions in all areas of the store as business needs require.   • Store Protection Specialist provides a visible presence at store entrances/exits, mitigating theft and fraud and maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers. Responsible for greeting customers, deterring opportunity for theft by physical presence in a company issued vest/uniform. Partners with store leadership to ensure compliance of Loss Prevention directives and minimization of operational shortage. Retail experience or similar training, loss prevention/security work experience and/or training in a retail setting a plus. Must possess current and valid security guard registration card.   • Area supervisors are members of the store’s supervisory staff. The area supervisor is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the store as well as the general operations and supervision of the store when functioning as the supervisor on duty. Area Supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the store, supervising associates, providing star customer service at all times, supervising merchandise processing, markdowns, sizing and the front end as needed.
