Shepard art teacher creates masks for workers
Health care, jail employees, other essential workers receive masks.
Shepard High School art teacher Jen Glaz has dedicated much time and talent recently to creating protective masks for health care professionals at area hospitals, employees at Cook County Jail, and other essential workers.
Shepard friends bought much of the material and supplies. Jen put her talent to work to create masks for staff at Bethshan, Advocate Christ Medical Center, the University of Chicago Hospital, Little Company of Mary Hospital, Palos Community Hospital, and more.
Apart from helping protect these wonderful people from COVID-19, this project felt personal for her -- "One of my first students is front line at (Advocate) as a nurse," she said.
