Shepard senior signs with St. Francis
Lozano to run track, XC for one of nation's best programs

Shepard High School senior Carolina Lozano today signed a National Letter of Intent to run track and cross country from the University of St. Francis.
Lozano received both academic and athletic scholarship money from USF.
Lozano ran cross country for three seasons at Shepard, playing an integral role in the Astros winning the South Suburban Conference Red Division championship in 2016.

This past season her fellow Astros chose Lozano for the Sportsmanship Award “for being an excellent teammate and leader,” said assistant coach Scot Rybarczyk.
Lozano also has been a big part of the track team’s run of success. “She brings hard work, commitment, and leadership to our track program,” said Rybarczyk, who’ also the head coach of the girls track program.

The University of St. Francis cross country team finish second at the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national finals.
