Sophomore Journey Jackson Named Oak Lawn 'January Female Athlete Of The Month'

OAK LAWN, IL — Sophomore Journey Jackson is thriving in girls wrestling at Oak Lawn Community High School. She posted a record of 21-4, she won the South Suburban Conference Red meet, she took second at the Curie tournament, second at the Oak Forest tournament, and placed first at the Lady Raptor tournament. All of these accomplishments earned her the honor of Spartan Athlete of the Month for January.

Her performance at the SSC Red meet was one to remember.

“Journey earned all-conference honors for the second year in a row,” OLCHS head coach Matt Arthur said. “In a highlight of her recent success, Journey dominated in the conference finals by defeating a returning Illinois High School Association State Finals qualifier. She proved her ability to rise to the occasion against top competition.”
