St. Germaine “Crazy 8” Math Club Puts FUN into Math

Sixty four St. Germaine students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 are finding ways to have Math Fun after-school.

The cost of the program was underwritten by a National Council of Teachers of Math grant. Many of the activities are STEM based (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Students made geometric figures with “glow sticks,” created pan flutes using varying lengths of drinking straws, and held Bathroom Tissue Olympics.“ The camp runs for six weeks in the winter and another six weeks during the spring.

St. Germaine School in Oak Lawn provides an outstanding educational experience for students from 3-year-old pre-school to eighth grade. The St. Germaine School community is strong and growing, with updated technology, a variety of sports programs as well as a half and full day pre-school.
