St. Laurence High School Hiring First Girls' Varsity Coaches
As the Burbank Catholic boys' high school prepares to go co-ed in the fall, St. Laurence is hiring its first girls varsity coaches.

BURBANK, IL -- With the closing of all-girls Queen of Peace High School in Burbank, the adjacent all-boys St. Laurence High School has opened its doors to Peace girls wishing to continue the single-gender education they signed up for.
Queen of Peace’s decision to close at the end of the academic year accelerated St. Laurence’s consideration to go coed. The option of becoming a co-ed Catholic high school was to be discussed in St. Laurence’s 2020 strategic plan.
In preparation for St. Laurence’s first co-ed classes in fall 2017, the high school has four open head girls varsity coaching positions. Coaching applicants must have previous high school coaching experience or the equivalent, and hold a valid Illinois teaching certificate of be ASEP-certified.

Successful candidates will become the first girls coaches. The positions offer a great opportunity to build the tradition of girls’ athletics to compliment the strong boys programs that have been a staple of Viking athletics.
Qualified candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to St. Laurence athletic director Tim Chandler at tchandler@stlaurence.com. There may also be possible teaching openings in all subjects for the 2017-2018 school year. No phone calls please.
The following coaching positions are available:
