St. Linus School's Hawktoberfest Offers Fun For All Ages, Sept. 16

OAK LAWN, IL -- Hawktoberfest returns to St. Linus School this Saturday, Sept. 16. The annual family fun fest runs from 4 to 11 p.m. offering an afternoon and evening full of activities for kids and adults of all ages. Hawktoberfest, now in its seventh year, has evolved into a not-to-be-missed area tradition.

For adults, live entertainment and a beer tent will be offered throughout the day. For the kids there are bouncy houses, face painting, hockey shoot outs, cupcake decorating, craft making and more. Food will be available for purchase from Chuck’s Southern Comforts BBQ.

Musical acts feature St. Linus 2008 alumni Elise Harrigan, fresh off her triumphant win at 115 Bourbon Street’s musical competition The One. Harrigan also recognize her as the talented performer from Oak Lawn Park District Theatre Program, most recently starring in Catch Me If You Can. Harrigan will be performing pop music, country and even some show tunes. Her performance will be “the one” to see. Harrigan appears on the Hawktoberfest stage from 4 to 6 p.m.

Then kick back for the musical stylings of Peter Oprisko and his Ensemble from 6 to 8 p.m. Oprisko is known as a premiere interpreter of treasured traditional adult Pop, Jazz, and Tin Pan Alley standards. Oprisko’s versatile, seductive baritone, exciting presentation, engaging charisma, and amazing knowledge of music history have catapulted him to the realm of one the nation's most in-demand entertainers.

Automatic takes the stage from 8 to 11 p.m. performing an eclectic set list that is sure to get everyone up dancing. They bring class, energy and a performance you will not forget.

Hawktoberfest is St. Linus School's main fundraiser of the year. Funds raised from this year's event are earmarked for technology upgrades. St. Linus is located at 10300 South Lawler Avenue in Oak Lawn.
