Stickney Man Wearing Ankle Bracelet Shoots Gun Off In Alley: Cops
He admitted to shooting the gun when police came out from nowhere "like an angel from heaven," prosecutors said.

STICKNEY, IL -- A 21-year-old Stickney man on electronic home monitoring is accused of firing a gun in an alley and putting multiple people in danger. Lukasz Styrczula appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane on a felony charge of reckless discharge of a firearm. The prosecutor said Styrczula was wearing an ankle bracelet for electronic home monitoring from another pending case at the time of his arrest.
Police went to the 4800 block of South Lockwood Avenue in Stickney around 1 a.m. July 5. Officers’ body cams picked up six more shots being fired when they arrived at the scene. Styrczula was allegedly seen walking away in the alley when officers claimed they heard something drop in the alley. The prosecutor said police found a Ruger handgun on the ground along with seven spent shell casings. According to the charges, Styrczula could be heard on the officers’ body cameras allegedly admitting to firing the gun until “an officer came out of nowhere like an angel from heaven.”
The assistant public defender told the judge that Styrczula attended Reavis High School up until his junior year.

The prosecutor said this is Styrczula’s second gun offense since May 18, for possession of a gun with defaced serial number and drug charges. He was reportedly arrested next door to where he was seen shooting the gun in the alley.
Styrczula is being held without bond for violating bail on the pending case. The judge set bail on the new charge at $250,000. Styrczula is due back in court Aug. 2 in Bridgeview.
