The domestic partner of a paid consultant for Tr. Robert Streit (Dist. 3) is in Cook County Jail after he was arrested on an active warrant for burglary and retail theft, as well as multiple traffic offenses on Aug. 22, reports said.
Brian Fox, 33, was arrested at his condominium building at 4018 W. 93rd Place, after police said he tried to flee an officer who stopped him for negligent driving. The address is the office for the Oak Lawn Leaf, a political blog founded last year by former mayor Dave Heilmann. Fox’s domestic partner, Shannon Fox, is a paid consultant for Streit, according to the trustee’s campaign disclosure statements.

According to the police report, an office on patrol in the 4000 block of West 91st Place spotted a gray Chevy Malibu making a left turn at a high rate of speed southbound from Komensky around 11:05 a.m. Aug. 22.
Police said that the officer recognized Fox, whom he knew to have a revoked drivers license and two active warrants from a prior incident for fleeing a police officer.

Upon seeing the officer, police said that Fox increased his speed, turned into his driveway and pulled into his garage. As he exited his car, Fox was ordered to place his hands on the vehicle.
Fox allegedly looked at the officer and said, “okay, okay,” and then turned and ran into his condominium building.
Police said the officer followed Fox through the garage service door and was able to apprehend him before he he could open the door to his condominium unit. Fox was taken into custody and placed in handcuffs, reports said.
Records confirmed that Fox had a revoked drivers license and two active warrants, police said. He was taken to the Oak Lawn police station where he was issued citations for negligent driving, driving with a revoked license, and no proof of insurance.
According to the Will County warrant, Fox was charged with retail theft after he allegedly entered a Meijer store in Bolingbrook and stole $300 worth of Red Bull on March 24.
He was also charged with one felony count of theft when he entered a Meijer store in Lake County, IN, on June 24, and loaded up a cart with Red Bull and Frito Lay variety pack chips, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office said. That warrant is still open.
Illinois Secretary of State records lists the Oak Lawn Leaf as one of the entities operating under a company owned by Streit business associate, Dennis Brennan.
A recent email from the Oak Lawn Leaf sent to residents on Sept. 5 included 4018 W. 93rd Place as the return address. The address also appears in Cook County voter registration records as the residence of Brian and Shannon Fox.
Fox’s bail was set at $10,000. His next court appearance is Sept. 23.
