Student Brawl Puts Richards High School on Hard Lockdown
The fight may have started from an unfounded report that a student had a gun, police said.

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police broke up a large fight Tuesday morning at Richards High School involving several students in the cafeteria, placing the school on hard lockdown
Around 11 a.m., officers responded to a call about at Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Ave. The OLPD school resource officer, school security and staff were able to break up the fight. The school was placed on hard lockdown after a student reported that one of the students fighting may have had a handgun tucked in his pants, police said.
The student was searched and found not to armed. As a precautionary measure, officers further searched the school and not gun was found. The lockdown was lifted.
