Students learn life-saving skills at Future Health Leaders day
Advocate Christ Medical Center hosted area students for healthcare immersion day
Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn hosted 31 Future Health Leaders high school and college students on April 5.
Students were immersed into a full-day of training and learning sessions that included life-saving skills through a Stop the Bleed workshop, a health innovation ideas challenge, critical care nursing, physical therapy and occupational therapy exercises, and an interdisciplinary team simulation. The motivated students also had the opportunity to learn about health care leadership from Matthew Primack, president of Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Future Health Leaders is Advocate Aurora Health’s pipeline training program exposing motivated, underrepresented students to a wide range of health careers and also matches them with meaningful internship opportunities in the Advocate system. Special thanks to our facilitators, partner schools, and to our hard-working students!
