On October 16th, Swallow Cliff Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, celebrated the 40th anniversary of its organizing with a luncheon at Water's Edge Golf Club. The chapter was privileged to have three of its first members present: Mary Busch, Nancy Hamrick-Maschner, and Marilyn Earnest, organizing regent. Special guests were NSDAR Chaplain General, Pamela Bork, Honorary State Regents Gloria Flathom and Sharla Luken, plus Illinois state officers Julie Elbert, Doda Starkey and Barbara Easter. Three new members received their oath of membership from Pamela Bork. Following the meal, attendees were treated to a presentation by Audra Gray, a chapter member who served as a guardian on the recent Honor Flight Chicago for women veterans.
