School officials asked parents in an email sent Sunday night to discuss with their students the consequences of joking about making school shooting threats on social media.

I am asking all parents to discuss this incident with their students, discuss the severity of making and posting threatening comments, and to report any additional information about this incident to a school administrator.

This latest incident does not appear to be related to social media rumors of a school shooting from earlier this month.
