Thanks Mom! Oak Lawn Resident Celebrates Mother's Day with $250,000 Lottery Win

OAK LAWN, IL — This Mother’s Day, Oak Lawn resident James Molitor has one more reason to thank his mom.

“My mom told me she had a feeling I would win a big Lottery prize, so I bought a Sizzlin’ 7s instant ticket and I won a quarter of a million dollars!”

Originally from West Lawn, Molitor recently moved to Oak Lawn to be closer to family. His plans for the windfall include sharing with his mother.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 4500 West 63rd St., in Chicago. Molitor was in his car in the parking lot when he scratched the ticket and discovered his win. 

The retailer will receive $2,500, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
