Threatening Email To Reavis Lands Aurora Man in Jail: Prosecutor
Prosecutors said 22-year-old man sent email to Reavis staff, threatening to shoot and rape students.

BURBANK, IL -- An Aurora man was arrested for sending a threatening email to staff at Reavis High School in Burbank, in which he threatened to shoot and rape students when he was not provided with a school transcript in a timely manner, prosecutors said. He also has pending a retail and battery charge out of Aurora and pleaded guilty this month to another retail theft out of Kane County.
Julian Onate, 22, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony disorderly conduct charge. On July 15, Onate is accused of sending a threatening email to the Dist. 220 superintendent and a Reavis dean. The prosecutor said Onate was angry because he didn't think staff were acting responding quickly enough to his request for his school transcript.
The email, sent from his personal Yahoo email account, allegedly threatened to shoot all the males and rape female freshmen students “vaginally” and “anally.” The prosecutor said Onate also threatened to shoot the former school resource officer and his son. In addition to the pending charges, the prosecutor said Onate has three prior misdemeanor arrests.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Onate lives in Aurora with his brother and suffers from headaches.
“It sounds like he’s suffering from a lot of things,” Judge Felice said. “He needs help.”
