TJ Maxx Opens, HomeGoods Ready To Open At Stony Creek Promenade

TJ Maxx held its grand opening on Thursday as HomeGoods is set to open on Sunday, Aug. 18 at the Stony Creek Promenade in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL — TJ Maxx and HomeGoods are set to open Thursday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 18, respectively, in Stony Creek Promenade. Both stores are located on the west end of the shopping center at 110th Street and Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn. This latest round of new store openings continues Oak Lawn’s ambitious plans to redevelop the corner into a major retail and restaurant center for the south suburbs.

The Oak Lawn location will throw open its doors at 8 a.m. Thursday. The first 500 people in line will receive a reusable bag. TJ Maxx offers high-quality and trendy merchandise from top designers and brands at discounted prices, from fashion and accessories to jewelry, home, beauty, pet products, toys and more.

“Our newest store in Oak Lawn will offer an ever-changing selection of high-quality, on-trend and brand-name merchandise at the amazing prices T.J. Maxx is known for. Our buyers create a unique mix that offers value for styles in every department, and we’re excited to bring this experience to a new neighborhood,” TJ Maxx President Tim Miner said in a news release. “With a constant flow of new arrivals, we offer an exciting one-stop-shop that makes it easy for consumers to find what they want, take it home that day and save money at the same time.”

The new TJ Maxx store in Oak Lawn measures 22,000 square feet, featuring an easy-to-shop layout, bright and spacious dressing rooms, and a single-line queue for faster checkout. Regular store hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m to 8 p.m. Sunday.

In celebration of its new Oak Lawn location, T.J. Maxx will contribute to the surrounding community by presenting a $10,000 donation to Greater Chicago Food Depository. The new store will also join all other stores nationwide in sponsoring Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. T.J. Maxx also supports Save the Children, Autism Speaks, and Joslin Diabetes Center with annual in-store fundraising campaigns.

HomeGoods is also slated to open at Stony Creek next door to TJ Maxx. A grand opening is set for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18. HomeGoods offers discount furniture, rugs, lighting, décor, cookware and more. Regular store hours 9:30 a.m. to -9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ,

If you’re a TJ Maxx or HomeGoods cardholder, shoppers can get a sneak peak at the new Oak Lawn HomeGoods in a special preview Friday, Aug. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m.

TJ Maxx and HomeGoods are both owned by the Framingham, Mass.-based TJX Companies Inc., which claims to be the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the United States and worldwide.
