Traffic Stop Produces 22 Pounds of Pot, Edibles, Blunts and Wax
Bridgeview man arrested after cops find more than 20 pounds of assorted cannabis, edibles, blunts and wax in traffic stop, prosecutor said.

OAK LAWN, IL -- A Bridgeview man was arrested after police found more than 22 pounds of cannabis in the car he was riding in and a storage unit, prosecutors said. Abdallah Omran, 22, is charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, and manufacture and delivery near a school.
Around 2 p.m. May 15, Oak Lawn police were watching people going in and out of two cars parked in front of a house at 98th Street and Ridgeland Avenue. When the cars pulled away, officers stopped the drivers for traffic violations. Police opened a box in one of the vehicles, where officers found more than 22 pounds marijuana, edibles, wax, blunts and vape oils, according to the charges. Omran allegedly admitted that the box was his. The prosecutor said Omran gave officers permission to search a storage unit in Chicago, where more pot was found.
Omran’s attorney said his client is scheduled to graduate with a master’s degree from DePaul University and works part time in his family’s convenience. The attorney said Omran was stopped twice by police. The first time a police K9 sniffed the car and Omran and his companions were allowed to leave.

“There are serious consequences for alleged actions,” Judge Peter Felice said.
