UPS Driver Impersonator Charged With Heisting Cell Phones: Prosecutors

A man who donned a UPS uniform was arrested on July 6 for stealing cell phones off a truck at Chicago Ridge Mall, prosecutors said in court on Tuesday.

Rorey Robinson, 31, was charged with two counts of burglarizing a motor vehicle.

Prosecutors said that Robinson donned a UPS uniform and unloaded $8,200 worth of cell phones off a UPS truck at Chicago Ridge Mall on April 22.

He is accused of pulling another cell phone heist at the mall also while wearing a UPS uniform on July 2, prosecutors said.

Robinson was arrested on July 6.

Bail for the first incident was set at $80,000; bail for the second incident was set at $60,000. Robinson needs $14,000 to bond out.

His next court date is July 27.
