Veteran Nurse Revels in Opportunity to Practice Close to Home
At Family First Medical Group, 'South side girl' Ann Scoigletti is building trust and providing great care.

She didn’t choose super strength. She didn’t pick the ability to fly. She didn’t even ask for the power to read people’s thoughts.
Nope. When Ann Scoigletti was jokingly asked what super power she would want if given the chance, she said: “None. I’m just happy being human.”
It’s that grounded perspective that serves as the foundation for Ann to thrive as an advanced practice registered nurse in the area where she grew up.

“The people of Southwest Chicagoland are my people,” said Ann, who works alongside Dr. David Beckmann at Family First Medical Group locations in Mokena and Evergreen Park. “I was born here, so that helps me build lifelong connections with our patients. Truly knowing this area and these people allows me to provide better care.”
Staying close to her roots

The self-proclaimed “south side girl” attended Mother McAuley High School in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood of Chicago. She then acquired her BSN from Indiana University and her MS, Family Nurse Practitioner Program, from St. Xavier University in Chicago.
From an early age, Ann knew she’d pursue her passion for helping others.
“There’s nothing better than playing a part in helping someone live a more productive life,” she said. “I have that opportunity here, and I feel very lucky to do what I love.”
Prior to Family First Medical Group, Ann sharpened her skills in the ER at Mercy Hospital, the intensive care unit at the University of Chicago, the pediatric ER at the University of Chicago, Access Community Health Network, Walgreens Take Care Clinics, and MetroSouth Health Centers.
Focusing on relationships
The mission of Family First Medical Group is “Better living through better health,” and Dr. Beckmann believes Ann’s dedication to providing the best care will play a significant role in helping our community live better lives.
“She puts our patients first, always,” said Dr. Beckmann, who founded Family First Medical Group earlier this year under the guidance of Providea Health Partners, which also operates Women’s Healthcare of Illinois. “Ann goes out of her way to make our patients feel welcome and comfortable. And on top of that, she’s exceptionally smart and incredibly talented.”
Family First Medical Group offers a patient-centered environment, which allows Ann and Dr. Beckmann to provide the type of family care that fits the individual needs of each person.
“It starts with open and honest communication,” Ann said. “We want our patients to feel empowered to make smarter decisions about their care. They deserve that.”
It looks like being human is a pretty good super power after all.
