Video: Oak Lawn Trustees Disagree About Norcomm 911 Service
Oak Lawn's 911 service sparked the most heated discussion of Tuesday's board meeting, prompting the mayor to call for a five-minute recess.

The regular meeting of the Oak Lawn Board of Trustees on Tuesday became heated when the topic of the village’s emergency call center came up in discussion.
Watch below as Trustee Carol Quinlan (Dist. 5) says she agrees with Trustee Bob Streit’s (Dist. 3) argument “that there is a problem with Norcomm” Public Safety Communications. Norcomm entered a five-year contract to oversee Oak Lawn’s 911 dispatch center last January.

In the second video, Mayor Sandra Bury breaks up an argument between the trustees by calling a recess during Trustee Tim Desmond’s (Dist. 1) “new business” portion of the meeting. Desmond had been talking about a woman who approached him last week at the polls with a flyer that Desmond said contained “inaccuracies” about the village’s emergency call center. Desmond said the woman told him the flyer was made by the Oak Lawn Leaf.
