Richards High School hosted its fourth annual charity 5K run and one-mile walk on Sunday, September 27. Hundreds gathered for a morning of fun and fitness.
In its first three years, Running with the Bulldogs has raised more than $30,000 for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation.
This charity, which will open its 50th site this year, provides free toys, clothing, and gift cards to children and teenagers in treatment for cancer.
Orland Park resident Colleen Kisel founded the charity in 1996 after her son had completed treatment and survived a battle with cancer.

It is the only charity of its kind in the nation. POTCF supports hospitals throughout the Chicago area, including Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, and 17 states.
Last year, more than 9,300 children and teenagers received gifts from the foundation.
