Village of Oak Lawn Resident Anastasios Goulos Inducted Into Prestigious Graduate Honor Society
Edward A. Bouchet Honor Society honors outstanding doctoral students committed to advancing leadership and diversity

Village of Oak Lawn resident, Anastasios Goulos, was inducted into the prestigious Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society. Goulos is a student at nonprofit, private The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), and is one of eight TCSPP students welcomed into the society this year.
Inaugurated by Yale University and Howard University in 2005, The Bouchet Society seeks to develop a network of pre-eminent scholars exemplifying academic and personal excellence, character, service and advocacy for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in academia. Membership is open to post-doctoral students from all racial and ethnic backgrounds who have outstanding academic records and are committed to using their doctoral education to advance leadership, diversity, research and/or public service.
Goulos is a student in the Organizational Leadership Program. He is a law enforcement professional with 19 years’ progressive experience with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, and a five-year faculty and staff member in the university arena. His dissertation presents research in favor of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and why they are essential to employee satisfaction and the success of the organization.

This is the fifth consecutive year TCSPP students were recognized, bringing the total number of TCSPP Bouchet Society members to 64. Members include students from Cornell University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Rutgers University, University of California, San Diego, University of Michigan, and University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Washington University. The 2017 members were officially inducted to the society at this year’s Annual Bouchet Conference on Diversity and Graduate Education held at the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Campus.
“Having our students inducted into the reputable Bouchet Society reflects their commitment to service and embracing the diverse communities of our society,” says Jennifer Stripe Portillo, Dean for Student Success at TCSPP. “These are characteristics The Chicago School values and works hard to instill in students.”
