Volunteer At Advocate Christ Medical Center
Advocate Christ has volunteer spots open for teens and adults in guest services.

OAK LAWN, IL — If you’re a high school student looking to fulfill community service hours or an adult who wants to make a difference, Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn has volunteer spots available to greet, escort and direct patients and guests.
Each year, more than 500 volunteers contribute over 60,000 hours of service to the medical center.
“Our volunteers are an integral part of our community,” Ana Chapa-Cruz said in a news release, manager, patient relations, guest services and volunteer services for Advocate Christ. “Their selfless dedication of time and talent makes a significant contribution to the quality of care provided to our patients, visitors and guests alike. When a volunteer delivers flowers or mail, visits with a patient, or offers a smile or comforting word, he or she helps to brighten someone’s day. That’s important to our patients, and it’s important to us.”
Currently, the medical center is looking for dedicated adults and teens who want to make a difference and lend a helping hand. Some volunteer opportunities available are patient greeters at the information desks and waiting areas in various departments throughout the medical center including, but not limited to, the emergency department, imaging center and surgical waiting rooms. Volunteers work alongside with Guest Services at hospital and department entrances, greeting, escorting and directing patients, visitors and guests.
“No matter where or how you contribute, we all help people live well,” said Chapa-Cruz.
If interested in becoming a volunteer, applications are available online at Advocate Christ Volunteers, or stop by or call the volunteer office at 708-684-5248. Teens must be 16 years of age and in high school to volunteer at the medical center.
