The main office at Shepard High School this week features more than holiday decor: Three teams won new hardware over the weekend.
The junior varity girls bowlers won first place as a team at the Joliet Central tournament. Sophomores Taylor Sprenkle and Saniah Calvin went 1-2 individually (three Astros placed in the Top 10.)
- Taylor Sprenkle, first place, 1039 total pin count.
- Saniah Calvin, second place, 996 total pin count.
- Freshman Cameryn Landers, 7th place, 939 total pin count
The speech team won two championships at the Neuqua Valley 'Spice It Up' Tournament:
- Esma Tantawi, first place, Oratorical Declamation
- Meagan Ruger Smith, first place, Radio Speaking
- Shea Fitzgerald, second place, Prose Reading
- Aniyah Clemons and Jai Lynn Carter, fifth place, Dramatic Duet Acting
And the varsity cheerleaders won first place at the Midwest Cheerfest Invitational at Sandburg High School.
