Windy City Flower Girls Winner in 'The Knot Best Of Weddings'

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn’s own Windy City Flower Girls was selected as a 2018 winner of The Knot Best of Weddings. The award represents the highest-rated wedding professionals as reviewed by real couples, their families and wedding guests on The Knot. This the second year Windy Flower Girls has been selected for The Knot Best of Weddings.

Owner Aimee Bachmann opened Windy City Flower Girls, 5419 95th St, Oak Lawn, in 2010. Since then she has become Oak Lawn's official connoisseur of good taste. Bachmann carries a wide assortment of traditional and unconventional blossoms, including roses, fresh flowers and locally grown orchids. Many of her flowers are locally sourced. Bachmann buys her orchids from a grower in Villa Park, and, at Christmas time, her poinsettias in nearby Plainfield. Her special event arrangements include weddings, sympathy and tribute arrangements. She also does prom and dance corsages, and saves husbands from having to buy their wives flowers from the supermarket.

"I try to do unique stuff like lime green roses or white roses with just a hint of red," Bachmann said in a 2011 interview. "I like having stuff that's different. You can go to Jewel and get the carnation wraps. I'd rather not be Jewel."

Only 3 percent of the approximately 300,000 local wedding professionals listed on The Knot received this distinguished accolade. TheKnot.com continues its long standing tradition of supporting local wedding vendors with its Best of Weddings, an annual-by couples, for couples guide to the top wedding professionals across the country. To determine the winners, The Knot assessed almost 3.6 million reviews across the various vendor categories -- venues, musicians, florists, photographers, caterers and more. The winners represent the best of the best wedding programs that a bride or groom would want to consider booking for their own unique wedding.
