Woman Stabbed In Hodgkins Sam's Club Parking Lot, 3 In Custody

The woman was apparently stabbed near the fuel center in the Sam's Club parking lot in Hodgkins. No charges announced for three in custody.

HODGKINS, IL — A woman was found stabbed in the parking lot of Sam’s Club Thursday afternoon in Hodgkins, police said. Three people are reportedly in custody.

Just after 2:30 p.m., Hodgkins police went to investigate a report of a person stabbed near the fuel center in the Sam’s Club parking lot at 9500 W. Joliet Road. Officers found a woman on the ground with a stab wound to the chest.

Officers began rendering aid to the woman, who was transported to Loyola Medical Center where she underwent surgery and is receiving further treatment.

A nearby witness gave officers a description of the suspect and vehicle. Members of the Major Case Assistance Team located and stopped the vehicle in Chicago near 30th Street and Spaulding Avenue.

Three people were taken into custody and transported to the Hodgkins police station. Police would not comment Friday if any of the trio have been charged, only to say that the incident is still under investigation.

“We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community,” Hodgkins police said in a written statement.
