13-Year-Old Attacked, Carried To Man's Truck In Oak Park: Cops

Police say the man grabbed the girl from behind and carried her to a red Toyota truck.

OAK PARK, IL — Police in Oak Park are seeking the public's help in finding a man accused of grabbing a 13-year-old girl as she walked home from school Monday. According to a news release, the victim was near the 600 block of Washington Blvd. when a man "grabbed her from behind and carried her to a red Toyota."

Police say the girl was able to get free and safely get to a friend's house. The victim was then taken to Oak Park Hospital for treatment and is now in her mother's care, police say.

The suspect was described as a "male of mixed race" around 6' tall. Police say the victim was not able to give a more detailed description following the incident.

In the wake of this incident, Oak Park Police have increased patrols around schools and parks in the village.
