17th Century songs of Love and Death

Sunday, Feb. 21: Church of Beethoven-Oak Park presents Brandon Acker on therobo with Soprano Erica Schuller

Church of Beethoven Oak Park welcomes Classical lute player Brandon J. Acker, performing 17th Century Songs of Love and Death on therabo lute on Sunday, Feb. 21 at Open Door Theater.

A product of the Florentine Renaissance, the theorbo has a rich, powerful sound inspired by the demand for extended bass range instruments in opera. Joining Brandon Acker for this very special debut is Soprano Erica Schuller and guest Soprano Christine Steyer.

Church of Beethoven Oak park is a third-Sunday classical music series that takes place at Oak Park’s Open Door Theater, 902 S. Ridgeland Ave. The performance costs $10 for adults, $5 for children and students. concert starts at 10:30 a.m., with free cookies and coffee starting at 10.
