2 Armed Robberies Reported Within 15 Minutes In Oak Park: Cops

Police say the armed robberies took place within 15 minutes of each other.

OAK PARK, IL — A man and a woman were robbed at gunpoint in Oak Park in in separate incidents on Valentine's Day. Police say the robberies took place within 15 minutes of each other.

In both instances, a white four-door car was involved, police say.

The first robbery took place at approximately 9:12 p.m. in the 300 block of S. Harvey. A man was walking west on Randolph when a car pulled up near him and a male and female suspect got out. The female held a gun to the man's head, police say, as the male took his phone and wallet. The suspects then fled east on Randolph and were last seen driving a small white four-door car.

At approximately 9:26, police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 400 block of Wisconsin. Police say two men in ski masks approached a woman as she was walking in a courtyard. One suspect pointed a gun at the woman and she dropped her Steve Madden tote bag, which contained a gold Apple iPhone 7 Plus, $90 in cash, and credit and debit cards.

The suspects took the items before getting into a white four-door vehicle that was waiting for them, according to police. The car was last seen heading north on Wisconsin.
