2 Cars Stolen In Oak Park Over St. Patrick's Weekend: Cops

Police say two cars were reported stolen between March 16 and March 18 in Oak Park.

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park Police are investigating two car thefts that were reported over St. Patrick's Day weekend. The first theft was reported on Saturday in the 700 block of Garfield and the second took place Sunday in the 300 block of Chicago Ave.

According to police, a 2011 Chevy Malibu had been left running and was unattended briefly in the 300 block of Chicago Ave. when it was stolen Sunday morning. The car was later found unattended in the 700 block of N. Leamington, but no arrests were made.

A black 2013 Ford Focus was reported stolen Saturday in the 700 block of Garfield, police say. The victim, a Plainfield resident, told police the car was stolen sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 4:28 a.m. Saturday.
