2 Homes Burglarized On Taylor Avenue In Oak Park

Police say one resident discovered the burglar inside of their home.

OAK PARK, IL --- Two homes were burglarized in Oak Park Monday, according to police. One incident took place in the 400 block of North Taylor Ave. and another incident was reported in the 800 block of South Taylor Avenue.

The victim who lives in the 800 block of South Taylor told police that they discovered a burglar inside of their home around 12:45 p.m. Police say the burglar got into a back room of the home through a door that had been left unlocked. The suspect reportedly fled after the victim spotted them.

Sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., a suspect or suspects entered a home in the 400 block of North Taylor, possibly by climbing in through a back window. The victim told police that the burglar(s) went through their closets and drawers and stole a Gucci fanny pack and a Louis Vuitton purse that were valued at a total of $2,600.
