6 Cars Burglarized In Oak Park: Cops

OAK PARK, IL --- Police in Oak Park are investigating six car burglaries that took place within roughly 24 hours of each other. Each of the burglaries happened sometime between Dec. 25 and Dec. 26 and many were committed on vehicles that had been left unlocked, according to a police report.

1000 block of South Humphrey

Sometime between 12:24 a.m. and 6:43 a.m., someone burglarized a gray 2007 Infiniti Q35X. Police say the suspect(s) got in through an unlocked door and stole an envelope that contained $65 cash.

800 block of South Humphrey

An unlocked 2012 GMC Terrain was burglarized sometime between 9 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 26. The victim told police the car was ransacked and two cellphone chargers were stolen.

1100 block of South Humphrey

A suspect got into a 2003 Ford Taurus via an unlocked door and stole a Samsung computer tablet and multiple pieces of jewelry. The burglary took place between 10 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 11:56 a.m. on Dec. 26 and the total loss was $165.

1100 block of Lyman

Police say a 2018 Ford Fusion was burglarized sometime between 10 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 9:50 a.m. on Dec. 26. The suspect(s) stole white Apple earbuds valued at $160.

1100 block of Lake

A business vehicle was burglarized by a suspect who was seen fleeing the scene on a mountain bike around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 26. Police say they stole three rugs and three boxes of merchandise from a tractor trailer that was parked and waiting to make a delivery. The suspect was last seen fleeing east on Westgate.

Erie Court

Someone entered a Nissan Altima that was parked in a parking garage between 3 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 26. The stolen items included a winter jacket, a black backpack containing personal documents, and a white Samsung tablet. The loss was estimated at $500. \
