9 Cars Burglarized In Less Than 24 Hours In Oak Park: Cops

OAK PARK, IL — Police in Oak Park are investigating a series of nine car burglaries that took place within blocks of on another. The incidents all occurred between 2:30 pm. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday morning, according to police. The suspect(s) ransacked the vehicles and removed GPS systems, sunglasses, and other valuables.

Here's a list of each burglary, according to a police summary:

• 600 block of S. Grove: 2 vehicles burglarized. Suspect(s) tried to pry out car stereo, causing approximately $2,000 in damage
• 600 block of S. Grove: Glovebox ransacked, no loss reported
• 600 block of S. East Ave.: Garmin GPS reported stolen
• 600 block of S. Wesley Ave.: Glovebox ransacked, no loss reported
• 600 block of Carpenter: Glovebox ransacked, no loss reported
• 700 block of Carpenter Ave.: Change purse containing $10 taken
• 700 block of Carpenter Ave.: Glovebox ransacked, no loss reported
• 700 block of S. Kenilworth Ave.: Suspect(s) got into a garage and stole a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses valued at $155 from a vehicle.
