Amerikas Restaurant Now Open In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL — Amerikas Restaurant opened its doors in Oak Park in early December at the corner of N. Oak Park Ave. and Lake St. The eatery specializes in 'nuevo latino' cuisine that draws inspiration from traditional Latin dishes and adds a distinctly modern flair.

Chef Armando Gonzalez has perfected an inventive menu that includes amble options for meat eaters, seafood lovers, and vegetarians alike. Try the fusion-style chipotle hummus, served with fresh chapati for an appetizer, then dig into scallops paired with black rice and butter yuzu habanero sauce.

The meat selections includes fresh twists on traditional dishes like carne asada or taquitos stuffed with chicken barbacoa, creme fraiche, and rich queso fresco.

Amerikas Restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
