• Owners of West Suburban and Weiss reach agreement over control of the hospitals, after months in court (chicagotribune.com) — Control of West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park is shifting after its co-owners reached a late-night court agreement for one partner to buy out the other and bring in Insight Health Systems to operate both West Suburban and Weiss. The deal ends months of legal infighting but still leaves major hurdles to any reopening, including lost licenses and Medicare issues.
   

• 15 residents filed complaints against Homeland Security for Midway Blitz alleging mistreatment by agents (dailyherald.com) — An Oak Park Township trustee is among 15 Chicago-area residents filing federal tort claims alleging excessive force and wrongful detention by immigration agents during last year's Operation Midway Blitz. Their complaints, a required step before suing, seek compensation and aim to pressure prosecutors to pursue criminal cases over alleged abuses at facilities including the Broadview ICE center.
