Downtown Oak Park Announces Merchant & Property Owner of the Year

Downtown Oak Park honored two outstanding members for their dedication to the organization at the Annual Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 8^th. Karen Morava of CarefulPeach Boutique was awarded Merchant of the Year, and Tracy Vegeler of Oak Park Place Apartments was awarded Property Owner of the Year.

Morava and her staff were recognized for their enthusiastic participation in Downtown Oak Park’s initiatives, promotions and events; their staff’s friendly expertise and extraordinary customer service; their support of the Animal Care League with adoption events throughout the year; their innovative approach to social marketing engaging the community with local businesses; their highly original talent and zeal for visual merchandising that has elevated the profile of the district; and for their creation and assemblage of local Francophiles known as the “Peaches”.

Vegeler and Oak Park Place Apartments were acknowledged for their significant investment in the downtown district; their innovative approach in engaging their residents with the Downtown Oak Park lifestyle; their unending support of the organization and its members through the use of their facilities, time, talent, energy and staff; their beautification of the district through excellent property management practices; their tireless leadership and involvement on behalf of the organization; and for their many other contributions for the benefit of Downtown Oak Park as well as the entire community. 

Founded in 1988, the Downtown Oak Park Business Association is comprised of property owners and merchants in SSA#1, the central business district of Oak Park.
