The action-packed thriller Contagion, starring A-list actors Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law, is getting a lot of buzz these days, and residents of the North Riverside, IL area have even more to get excited about. The North Riverside Park Mall, located at 7501 West Cermak Road and home to the North Riverside Mall Theatre, will appear in the final scene of this highly anticipated movie. Contagion, premiering on Friday, September 9, 2011, follows the rapid progress of a deadly airborne virus and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak. During the shooting of the film, the North Riverside Park Mall was transformed into a Hollywood movie set. The shopping center is called “Willowbrook Mall” in the forthcoming film, where people infected with the lethal virus are quarantined.
