Rock Around the Clock: A 1950s Sock Hop

The Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest invites you to put on your saddle shoes and bobby socks, hop in your “wheels” and join us on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 7:30 – 11:30 p.m. for a swell night of dance, drink and food at the Berwyn VFW Post 2378 (lower level), 1529 South Harlem Avenue, Berwyn, IL.

Sample the simple tastes of the 1950s with a selection of foods from the era (yum, JELLO!) as well as a cash bar. Whether you are a nerd or a greaser, scream on down to this sock hop event which benefits the Historical Society. Dance to the music of Extreme Sounds Entertainment. Tony, our DJ, will play our favorite tunes from the 1950s era while you relive your favorite dance craze of that decade…the mash potato, the jive, the watusi, or maybe the jerk!

Dress inyour favorite style of the 1950s: cashmere sweater, pearls and poodle skirt or T-shirt, leatherjacket and ducktail!!
