Armed Men Rob Couple In Oak Park: Police

OAK PARK, IL — An Oak Park couple was robbed at gunpoint Saturday evening, according to village police. The armed robbery took place around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Jackson and Carpenter Streets, police say.

The victims were reportedly walking eastbound on Jackson St. when two men approached them from behind. Police say one man brandished a handgun and demanded cash.

According to police, the victim gave the men his wallet and the suspects then fled. They were last seen heading west on Jackson.

The first suspect was described as a black male with a thin build, standing between 5'8" and 5'10" tall. The second suspect was described as a black male with a thin build, standing between 5'6" and5'8" tall. They were last seen wearing dark clothing, police say.
