Armed Robber Locks Employee In Closet, Steals Cash: Cops

ELMWOOD PARK, IL — Police are looking for an armed man who robbed a gas station in Elmwood Park and locked its employee in a storage closet. The armed robbery took place just after midnight at the Mobil gas station at 2144 Harlem Ave., according to police.

The man reportedly showed a black semi-automatic gun to demand cash from the register of the gas station. After getting the money, the suspect then locked the employee inside a storage closet before fleeing, Chicago Tribune reports.

Police said that no one was harmed and that an undetermined amount of cash had been taken.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 35, weighing roughly 160 pounds and standing approximately 5'7" tall. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt that had a white Adidas logo on the chest.
